Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What does “not to exceed estimate” mean?

A. A not to exceed estimate means that if the company estimates it will take 30 hours to complete a task and it takes 40 hours, the company will NOT charge the customer for the extra hours. It also means that if the company estimates 30 hours to complete a task and it only takes 20 hours, the company will DEDUCT the unused hours from the final balance.

Q. What is a “photo and inventory system” and how can that help me?

A. Our photo and inventory system allows SOSPTS employees to quickly and efficiently photograph, itemize and track EVERY item they pack. It keeps track of what box number the item was packed in and posts the photo inventory online so that all authorized family members can access their account with a pin number and view the items that have been packed each day. This makes it easier to decide what the family wants to do with each item and allows the company to keep on packing rather than waiting for decisions prior to packing. Speeds up the pack and move process dramatically. It also makes for a nice photo inventory for insurance purposes of all the items that go to the new residence or into storage.

Q. Do we have to choose ALL the services SOS provides?

A. No, you can pick and choose from the initial estimate only the tasks that you want the company to do for you.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Each project is unique, however, the average projects are ranging from $3000 to $7500 depending on the volume of household items to be handled. These figures are PRE-sale of the unwanted items, the proceeds from the sale of those items will be DEDUCTED from the original agreed upon costs.
